It’s time to Help Kids Live Better at Walmart and Sam’s Club!

Local Walmart and Sam’s Club stores are once again joining forces to “Change Kids’ Health to Change the Future” by raising money for UF Health Jacksonville and Wolfson Children’s Hospital during the annual #HelpKidsLiveBetter campaign.

From June 22 through July 19, customers and members can make a donation of $1 or more when they checkout at the register. New to the 2020 campaign, customers will also have the ability to donate by rounding up their purchases to the nearest whole dollar amount at any local Walmart. Rounding up is the easiest way to help support CMN Hospitals and local kids.

Pediatric healthcare is underfunded, and money raised at Walmart and Sam’s Club helps close this funding gap. All funds raised at Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia Walmart and Sam’s Club locations directly benefit local kids, like McKenna, treated at UF Health Jacksonville and Wolfson Children’s Hospital. McKenna, the 2020 Champion, was treated at Wolfson Children’s Hospital after being born with Trisomy 21 and discovering at just two days old, she had a congenital heart defect as well as a rare esophageal defect. Her first surgery to connect her esophagus to her stomach took place when she was only five days old. That was followed by several more procedures including an open-heart surgery at three years old. Today, McKenna receives continued treatment and care from 14 pediatric specialists at her local CMN Hospital. Through it all, McKenna has shown strength with a big smile on her face.

In 2019, local Walmart and Sam’s Club associates, customers, and members raised $268,000, and to date, total fundraising from Walmart and Sam’s Club for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals exceeds more than $1 billion. Walmart and Sam’s Club joined the CMN Hospitals fundraising family in 1987 with Sam Walton himself being personally involved in the beginning of the relationship between the organizations. The #HelpKidsLiveBetter campaign supports Walmart and Sam’s Club’s goal of giving back to local communities.

Customers and members can help spread the word about the campaign via social media using the hashtag #HelpKidsLiveBetter.
