Miracle Monday- Lorenzo
Miracle Kid Lorenzo fought for his life for nine months at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at UF Health Jacksonville. Lorenzo was born 23 weeks early and weighed only one pound. During his stay at the hospital he had to undergo several surgeries, ventilator changes, needle sticks and blood transfusions. Even after going home he had to continue treatment with a G-tube, ventilated trachea, and apnea and pulse monitor to ensure he would stay healthy. Despite the fact that he may have to undergo a few more surgeries to repair his trachea, he is a happy baby. Lorenzo and his mom Nicole, regularly attend CMN events to talk about the impact their local hospitals have on the lives of the children like Lorenzo. Nicole is also an active member of the Festival of Lights committee, an annual 5k hosted by CMN Jacksonville to raise funds for UF Health Jacksonville and Wolfson Children’s Hospital.
If you want to see Lorenzo and learn more about his story while enjoying fun holiday activities join us at the Festival of Lights 5K on December 14, in San Marco Square.
